Finding Dr. "Right"

The time to find a physician is before you or someone in your family becomes ill. The Mahoning County Medical Society maintains a file of practicing member physicians in the Mahoning County area, and provides this information as a service to the community. This listing includes information about a physician's medical education and specialty board certifications, in addition to the address and phone number. The listing of a physician indicates that he or she is a member in good standing of the Mahoning County Medical Society. Since the Society is a voluntary membership organization, physicians are not required to belong in order to practice medicine in Mahoning County, but we can only provide referral information for Society members.

If you have a complaint...

The Mahoning County Medical Society is dedicated to maintaining quality medical care and good physician/patient relationships. Patients who have a misunderstanding or dispute with a physician may file a complaint with the Society. Our Committee on Judicial and Professional Relations will mediate complaints arising from the relationships of our members with their patients. Patients are encouraged to discuss the issue with his or her physician personally before beginning the complaint process. Such discussions generally resolve most problems.

Please remember that the Mahoning County Medical Society has no jurisdiction to award money damages or to revoke, restrict or limit the license of a physician. In addition, the MCMS will not act to resolve any dispute which is the subject of legal action.
  • Call the Society (330-533-4880) to determine if your physician is a member
  • If your physician is a member, submit your complaint in writing to the Society
  • Upon receipt of the complaint, the Committee on Judicial and Professional Relations will begin its investigation of the complaint
  • Upon completion of the investigation, the Committee will communicate with you by letter its findings
